It's much easier to find a grounding point
Sometimes it would be difficult to attach a grounding clamp to something, but this makes it easy. If it's been months it's worth noting that if you weld too close to the magnet it will ruin the weld (from what I've read) and I think I might experience this when I did a little bit 3/16 welded. Quiet. Not a big deal, but I still like it a lot.
