Waterproof but less durable than a grocery bag
I used to use a plastic grocery bag that I rolled up and folded into the rails under the saddle and lasted months without it. almost like a hole. While more waterproof, they're extremely prone to tears and punctures, especially if you forget to take them off and ride them once or twice. I've been through all three over a few months of regular use, almost always taking them off and carefully tucking them under the saddle while riding. At least they're cheap.
