Review on Goodyear Ultra Grip Ice 2 205/50 R17 93T winter by Stanislaw Gluszek ᠌

There are pros and cons, think before buying.

I have an Opel Astra H. When I bought it, I immediately noticed how soft it is, especially on the sides. I put it in late autumn, when the roads were a little damp from rain at a temperature of +1. The first feeling - the car is more stable and sluggish - the reaction to the rotation of the steering wheel is 2 times worse than in summer at the same temperature, and this is understandable. Moderately grippy rubber. On the second day of operation, the right side at a speed of 40-50 km / h hit a rather serious (according to the sound of impact) pothole. Outcome: lateral puncture + slight disk deformation. It will do for the city, but I strongly do not recommend it for the region - the rubber is very soft and does not inspire reliability in the harsh 2022 realities. In general, at the moment the feeling is negative. Before that, I rode a Pirelli on a Golf - what kind of blows she didn’t catch - no problems. : I skated on this rubber for 2 years and it is really cool. Wear is minimal. Quiet. Predictable. Now changed the car to kia ceed. And when choosing a new rubber, I understand that I don’t even want another. Rubber - class! I'll take it again :-)

Pros
  • Soft - quiet in the cabin, stable
Cons
  • It is easy to prick / cut, especially on the sides, falling the wheel into a good pothole = buying a new cylinder
