I have a green cheeked kennel and I bought an 18x18x57. I assembled it myself in about 1.5 hours and it was pretty easy. This is a great cage, very heavy and strong. I feel like some things about him are actually too big for a cockatiel or a small kennel - the playground upstairs seems awfully big for his little paws. You'll need some sort of ladder or something to hang on the side for your bird to climb up off the door. I also smelled the "gasoline" smell that other people have reported from the wheels, but that's from the rubber. and the oil they roll with (similar to greasing bicycle wheels). I soaked the wheels in a hot bowl of washing up liquid for about half an hour at dawn and then dried them and now there is no smell. it can be very dark - please buy some type of UVB lamp for your bird to give it some light. Sorry, the picture is on its side, Revain keeps rotating it and doesn't line it up vertically. Good purchase, excellent delivery, no problems, no dents or breaks, heavy and quality cage. I recommend! Update: I had two of these (for cockatiels and cockatiels) and after using this cage for a year I actually decided to try something else. Why? Seed guards are awful - it's a good idea and I liked it at first but my birds don't give a shit. So everything then. And the poo gets in the cracks and it's hard to clean and because I had to clean the powder/varnish/coating came off. In addition, it is very narrow and high, so that half the cage is empty. All the toys were hanging from the top half (above the food) and the bottom half was just nothing. I prefer a high and wide cage if that makes sense. I also think it's a bit big for a cockatiel. Mine had trouble navigating to the top of the cage and the large bars at the top. Anyway, I liked them at first when I first put them together, but after spending a year with them and seeing how toys fit in and how my birds actually use the cage, I realized there were much better options are.
