These cleats do not pair well with Shimano pedals. The engagement length is at least 2mm longer, resulting in the cleat getting stuck in the pedal. No reduction in spring tension will cause them to loosen. After nearly falling over at the end of my first ride with shoes installed, I assumed they were already too worn out from wearing them on concrete to come back. I cut 2mm off the front end and sanded it smooth, then trimmed about 1mm off the back corners where the extra material didn't allow the cleat to pivot enough to get off the pedal. I then reduced the spring tension to the bare minimum. They're barely usable now, I'll do a few more peels on the front of one because it's still hard to get it off the pedal. You'd think Thinvik would have a lab to test them on numerous Shimano pedals to ensure compatibility. It's not obvious that they do; It seems more likely that they just made these "similar" Shimano cleats and hoped for the best. I cannot recommend these. With the tools, time, patience, and significant effort, they can be made to work. But that's an unnecessary disappointment. Look elsewhere!
