Shmano style pedals are fully open but will not engage easily. If I force the spike on, it's almost impossible to disengage. I can not use.

I bought these for my old boots but ended up trying to buy new ones anyway. Anyway I haven't used them yet as I want to use them on new shoes (which are very hard to get on Amazon).

Seriously, one screw won't work in any hole, all the others will. Ultimately, a little quality control is the difference between a great, cheap alternative and the hassle of returning it. Otherwise they are fine. Slightly more floatation than the set I'm replacing requires a little more effort to get off the bike. That's all. You might get lucky and end up with a full set of usable screws. Maybe you end up like me and end up ordering 2 to get 1 working set.

These cleats do not pair well with Shimano pedals. The engagement length is at least 2mm longer, resulting in the cleat getting stuck in the pedal. No reduction in spring tension will cause them to loosen. After nearly falling over at the end of my first ride with shoes installed, I assumed they were already too worn out from wearing them on concrete to come back.
