Almost ready to write a negative review. I put new batteries in and tried the remote control but nothing. I then thought that maybe it needs to be programmed, so I googled and the first step was to turn on the DVD player from the player (which I didn't π). I turned it on, tried the remote and still nothing. I replaced the new batteries with some from another device and yes it worked! So it was user error all the way. The original batteries, although new, were old and didn't work. By the way, the holder is excellent. I fixed it to the side of the dresser and I don't think an earthquake could shake it π.
