Review on πŸ“€ Toshiba BDX2000KU Blu-ray Disc Player with 1080p Resolution by Justin Wallace

Revainrating 1 out of 5

The HDMI output stopped working after a few months. Terrible loading time.

I think you get what you pay for. I bought it on Revain.com on Black Friday 2009 for $80. After several uses over a few months, the HDMI output stopped working. Tried all possible resets, different cables and displays (all HDCP compliant). Vain. By the time I realized it was the player and not the display, the 90 day warranty had expired. Now I only use this with component (1080i) out and RCA cables for stereo sound. The picture quality is quite good but I would really like to use this unit with an HDMI connection as advertised. It should also be noted that load times on this device are terrible for most Blu-rays - you spend a minute waiting for the player's load counter, then at least another minute loading screens onto the disc before the disc menu appears. I've been told that other players are much faster at it. One trick I learned is to use the scene select feature available on most Blu-ray discs to select the first scene instead of just choosing "play". This avoids the extra 30+ seconds it takes to load copyright screens (let alone display them).
