I'm not a gamer so I don't know how to rate this gaming monitor. I got it because it was highly rated for picture quality, size and color. I can confirm that all of these properties work as advertised when connected to my Mac Mini. I wanted it to be displayed at a non-native resolution. My eyes aren't what they used to be and I find that 3440/1440 makes it difficult to see many things (like the mouse pointer). I tried setting the monitor to a more comfortable 2560/1080 but the monitor reminds me that this is not the optimal resolution. After a few days it switches back to native resolution. So how bad do you want to fight your monitor? Otherwise I can only recommend this monitor.
