Purchased February 2011 - Great scale, just for the post office (I've been told I need a good scale when checking in packages and telling them how much they cost to weigh). I've also used it to weigh suitcases (you pay more if they weigh over 50lbs when flying). I put the batteries in the first day and haven't changed them yet - February 2011 - Today is February 2018! I bought a power cord but it was gone for about a week, the batteries got me going straight away and was still waiting for it to run out so I could use the cord. The digital display is great, easy to read and remove for large items that might otherwise fill the space.
