I mostly have straight hair. It has a huge wave, but it's not very noticeable. I mainly use a flat iron to treat unruly hair and frizz. I've been using straighteners for almost 20 years. I was excited to try this compact in hopes of saving valuable bathroom storage space, but I'm not selling it. It definitely has pros and cons. Pros: - Small size - Gets warm quickly Cons: - Although small, it's quite heavy for its size - Only on/off options - No temperature setting - Spring is hard/firm The last con is the most problematic for me. I developed carpel tunnel (very often) when I was pregnant, and after the birth of my son (he is 5 years old) I never had full strength in my arms again. They still work well, but not as much as they used to. Since the spring is stiff or tight, I think it takes a decent amount of force to close the iron. That makes my hands tired. I'm curious to see if it will loosen up over time but for now I think I'll stick with my 15 year old Jilbere.
