Review on ๐Ÿšฒ Velmia Memory Foam Bike Seat optimizes Comfort I Ergonomic Zone Concept for Men & Women I BMX, MTB & Road Bicycle Saddle by Steve Guillen

Revainrating 4 out of 5

This might be the packaging after 3 previous attempts

EDIT: May 27th After installing a Redshift ShockStop seatpost (see with that, for me. Yours might be different so please read on and the rest My rating of this seat still stands - it's good just not quite right for me I think.. its early as I only have about 9 miles.. this seat (it arrived this morning) but after the standard seat on my bike mini step thru 2 (very painful), cloud 9 cruiser select (better, still hurts after 30 minutes) and to date bikeroo senior cruiser (even better but still hurts) seems to work best for me You have to pick and fit The seat is like a shoe so it might not be the best thing for you but for $20 on sale plus an extra dollar after boxing with an instant coupon it's an amazing deal - very well done ht and great grip surface. If it lasts long, it becomes even more impressive. Overall it's about an inch thinner than the Cloud 9 or Bikeroo because it uses elastomer donuts instead of springs, giving it a lower profile over the mounting rails. I think this has two implications, please read on. First, elastomeric "springs" can be stiffer and don't have as much travel as steel springs. So if all you want is suspension from your seat, this may or may not work for you. ; You just have to try and see. Second, I think this will actually work better for me as next week I'll be adding a seatpost with Redshift ShockStop suspension - less seat travel means it's not as responsive to Redshift so it can be springed. Work, and the lower profile means I can raise the rails in the frame a little over an inch (the seat itself will be the same height, it's just thinner) and have more room for the Redshift movement and tool kit. I'm hanging under my seat. I'll try to remember to update it after I've driven it for a few real miles, but maybe this could be my 'keeper seat' - my only minor gripe at the moment are the white logos and words on both. sides, top and back. rubbish and a bit sticky; A subtle logo would suffice. 99% medical alcohol does not work; I think I'll try acetone to see if it can remove the silkscreen without damaging the surface. If you are interested in trying this seat then this is great value if it suits you. More complex than I expected.
