Review on 🔧 EBC Brakes DP71657 SUV Supreme Compound Brake Pad from 7000 Series Greenstuff by Tony Pierce

Revainrating 5 out of 5

So far, so good. in the braking system

I bought these for my 2003 Toyota Tundra to replace some of the ceramic pads I used to fit. (Hint: This truck eats pads and rotors like a fat man donuts—and I'm a fat man, so I know.) The old rotors developed a "hot spot" where they would shake at speed. I replaced the old non-OEM rotors with Toyota rotors and decided to try these pads as they claim to slow down the rotors more easily. I'm fine with the extra brake dust as long as rotor life increases. (It gets expensive to replace everything every time I do brake work.) I've only had them for about a week, so I'll update as needed. So far I've done the usual light embed and found it to be a lot more "grippy" than any other pads I've used, which is fine for me. I don't think they are fully installed yet, so it might get a little better with time. A few comments: One of the previous reviewers stated that there are no "screamers" on the pads. Like all other pads in the past, mine was equipped with metal tongues (i.e. screamers). I'm not sure why his would have been any different, but mine were "normal". However, note that you get 4 pods and a pack of fat - that's all. There are no replacement caliper pins or anti-rattle springs in the box, again all the other pad kits I've bought have everything included. I've read that this could be a problem so I also ordered new pins and anti-rattle springs with pads and I'm very glad I did.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Out of fashion
