Good brake pads best in brake system

I ordered them for a 2004 4Runner V8. Just put in new discs with new pads. The pads stop at will and I didn't notice the brakes go away. They are less dusty than regular Greenstuff pads; However, they still generate more dust than the original pads. I'm happy to accept more braking power at the expense of more brake dust. I highly recommend.

  • best

Dust, dust, dust.: Brake pads

I have used many types of pads on my 2005 4Runner. I have to say that stock Toyota pads are best for wear and dust. These pads give off a lot of dust, especially when they are first installed. They've done about 500,000 miles and emit a lot more dust than standard Toyota pads. I will stay with them but not sure I will order again due to the amount of dust they give off.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • old

Good stuff, FJ setup

Installed on a '07 FJ Cruiser. These things are money. They are significantly better than stocks. Follow the hack instructions and you will get gtg. Installing it on my FJ all I had to do was remove the wheel and slide the pads out the top of the caliper. Came new, with lubrication. Didn't experience any brake noise/shimmy/judder, not that I cared much, but it was nice. They don't fade like stocks as they cruise down the track. There were issues with my stock setup going down steep trailsโ€ฆ

Great stopping power - a few flaws

almost cracked my windshield testing the stopping power of these pads when I first installed them. So if you are all worried about that time 60-0 in your truck or SUV is a good option. However, I have two main issues with the pads: 1. No "screamers" on the pads. If you switch from ceramic to these, you might be surprised at how quickly they wear out. You'll be doubly surprised when you don't hear the annoying squeak that usually precedes a pad change and start grinding instead. These pads doโ€ฆ

So far, so good. in the braking system

I bought these for my 2003 Toyota Tundra to replace some of the ceramic pads I used to fit. (Hint: This truck eats pads and rotors like a fat man donutsโ€”and I'm a fat man, so I know.) The old rotors developed a "hot spot" where they would shake at speed. I replaced the old non-OEM rotors with Toyota rotors and decided to try these pads as they claim to slow down the rotors more easily. I'm fine with the extra brake dust as long as rotor life increases. (It gets expensive to replace everythingโ€ฆ
