I got an old Delta Jointer from. must be 70s. The blades were rusted quite a bit and could certainly use a sharpening, but the surfaces were a bit uneven and for $15 these new blades were perfectly flat. My jointer skips tons of material with no problem. Definitely exceeds expectations for the price. However, if your blades are a bit rusty or dull but still perfectly flat, try sharpening them first. Depending on your planer, especially when using this type of blade, aligning new blades on the output table can be a chore.
