I have several on my kayak. I have a basic 8ft kayak that was made just for kayaking. I am an avid fisherman. In the beginning I wasn't doing so well. I installed two of the 12 inch rails, one on each side and four inches long to the back. I've since added a couple of rod holders, a paddle holder and a spike for the anchor line. I'm out on the water every weekend fishing from a kayak. They are durable, they are very useful and easy to install.
