I ordered these straps to tie my motorcycle. They are heavy enough for the task. I specifically chose these straps for the longer strap that connects to the ratchet. I often prefer to loop the end of the ratchet around something and loop it back onto myself. In fact, a friend came up with the idea of adding a hook to the ratchet shaft that the strap connects to. That way, even if the strap comes loose for some reason, at least it stays hooked. It's an extra margin of safety that makes me feel better.
