Easy fix if you're lucky

I had a terrible leak in the 6R80 bulkhead bushing and decided to replace the old bushing when I should have changed the transmission oil. I was hoping for a quick and easy replacement but like many others I found it very difficult to slide the white clip back up after the new bushing was installed. The o-rings are much thicker, and even pushing down on the socket with all the pressure I could apply with one hand, I couldn't get the clip back into place. After about an hour of frustration, I finally lifted the clip, but I had to push the clip with a lot more force than I thought was safe. I put everything back together, plugged the cable back in and went for a test ride. It worked great and I had no leaks, but after about 100 miles the dash key turned on and basically the dash lights started going crazy. I have some U codes that are transmission specific so I went under the truck and looked at the bushing and it looked like it was where it should be and I couldn't get it out. I flipped the connector locking lever up, cleaned the connector and erased the inside of the baffle socket and the pins looked fine. Push the connector back in and this time the locking lever went down slightly and further, locking into place. I'm sure because of all the sand and dirt it didn't go all the way down the first time and the pins weren't securely fastened. If you're installing a jack and you're having these symptoms, check the plug first because if the latch lever is lifted even a little, the pins won't engage properly and you'll get all sorts of codes saying there's no communication between the gears and gears. PCM. The 2009 F150 is now running great with no leaks and my first 7 liters have been replaced. I installed an oil dipstick on this truck a while back and while it was expensive it makes topping up the transmission a lot easier as you can do it old style from the engine bay and check the level frequently as it fills up and anytime after that.
