We bought this portable fridge freezer to use as a freezer in our motorhome on trips of several weeks. The freezer was powered by an auxiliary battery (charged by our van's generator). The freezer reliably froze our groceries for our trip and never killed the battery. Initially we had the lowest temperature (0 degrees Fahrenheit) and the freezer really had to work to maintain that temperature. It didn't seem insulated well enough to get to that temperature without using a lot of power. So I increased the temperature to 10 degrees Fahrenheit and the freezer stopped working so hard. If I left it at 0 it would quickly kill my backup battery. Initially it took a long time to plug it in to press the "on" button for it to turn on (no real button, some kind of touch sensor). Also, the temperature gauge is very bright and we had to put something over it to block out the light at night. Generally a functional product with some features.
