Our son was able to start wearing it at around 3-4 months. According to the pediatrician, his head is larger than average. It's a bit big and annoying, but once attached it won't fall off even if it falls asleep while driving. I know some are concerned that the plastic ring on the helmet's internal strap can easily come loose, but I didn't find that to be the case - I had to pull it out on purpose to get it out. Anyway, when I find out later that the ring keeps coming out, it seems like just sticking it on is enough.
