Review on Tamarind Spalted Pen Blank 5 Piece by Brian Rivera

Sells Wood Crafts: Straight cuts, no bends/deformations. 1 was heavily soiled everywhere. 1 had cracks along its entire length, but only on one side. 1, only the top half was sanded, the rest of the workpiece was perfectly smooth. The remaining 2 had very light markings along the side that were cut off when flipped over, leaving a smooth, blank surface with little or no grit. I wish there were more pieces scattered throughout. I hope I can cut flat areas and still get at least 3 badly splattered holds. (I ended up with 2 full handles and a 2 inch section) UPDATE: I bought another order from another seller. Zero star rating. Sold to SK Woodturning: Straight Blanks. All had dark spatter down their length. 3 were light gray water stains. /mold everywhere. 4 out of 5 pieces had multiple wormholes. Very dry, brittle, soft wood. (Only one piece drilled. So dry and brittle it has come apart/splintered. Returning.) Last try with a third party WoodTurningz seller. Most were straight and square, one had a slight bend, but not enough to render it unusable. 3 were completely chipped 1 was half chipped half smooth 1 was almost completely flat, turning would have nicked small marks A few wormholes but nothing serious Very dry, soft, brittle wood Drilled well but didn't work with a handle cutter Exercise patience . Of the three suppliers, I would buy more pieces from Woodcraft, whose blanks are much more stable.
