Excellent stereo system for the price

Excellent stereo system for the price. However, I've learned that without a distortion device connected to the power cord, it picks up engine noise, so without it it can't be used while the engine is running. This appears to be normal with all car and marine stereos. It was the first stereo I've ever installed that I wasn't aware of. A friend of mine who has installed many stereo systems told me that when he heard this. He knew exactly what the problem was.
