Review on πŸ“± Enhanced Universal Remote Control: Logitech Harmony One (No Longer in Production) by Holly Walker

Revainrating 1 out of 5

WAS the best remote control. Don't waste your time, effort or money!

After 4 years, 3 Refr and 2 bloated batteries Logitech is absolutely gross to me. Instead of solving a single problem that is making all owners angry, Logitech simply switched to newer remotes, each of cheaper quality and higher price with limited functionality! Why not develop a battery that doesn't swell? The device is perfect! Without going into too much detail, they're all available here and online, just saying that it's designed for easy, tactile, one-handed operation. Now Logitech has the touch, which stupidly has a touchscreen where your most used controls are, and those controls aren't reachable with one hand because they're on top! My solution was to reprogram the rightmost button (MENU) accessible with the right thumb to be a quick tap to skip 30 seconds or skip forward. The leftmost button (EXIT) is programmed to rewind with a short press. Long touches start the standard MENU and EXIT functions. Anyway, the One sells for as much as $350 years later due to its superiority! I like this functionality and button design; I hate the battery design and lack of improvements other than the One. For what it's worth I fought like a 1 star rating because of the idiocy of a fantastic product with fatal flaws. and 5 stars for its original brilliance. After being offered 2 repairs with the same problem, I requested a better solution. Logitech's initially sensible response was to replace it with their "better" new Touch, which doesn't match the ergonomics and costs $200. So, I have 3 perfectly good remotes that are useless because the batteries keep swelling. Ridiculous! In the end I chose 3 stars but I'm not happy with that because the last year was so bad for customers. Update September 13, 2015 I would give this article 0 stars if Revain would let me. None of the remotes charge so they don't work and I'm not wasting my time, money or effort on these things anymore. Stay away and try another company's remote control products! And if you find such a company, let us all home theater lovers know who it is!
