Review on πŸ”Œ Effortless Operation with WESTEK Indoor Wireless Outlet! by Sean Sheppard

Revainrating 2 out of 5

Looks used and is very loud. Functional but very imperfect and strikingly cheap

I don't write many reviews but after opening this thing and again after installing it I felt the need. First, my switch looks like it has been used. It has a number of flaws and "dirty" spots. It's not dirt or dust that can be wiped away, just a few black dots and scratches, which is really weird and disappointing. I would imagine it would be a deal breaker for some and if I wasn't so lazy and needed it I'd probably return it for another. The switch itself makes a very loud click when pressed. Not only is it very annoying, but that annoyance is made worse as you often have to press the button a damn 3 times for it to work. You can't just hang it on the wall and press down to use it like a regular light switch. You have to press very hard on a certain area, so it hurts a bit. You can't just walk into a room and flip the switch in one motion like a normal switch. It also makes a loud clicking noise at the end of the receiver when the switch is pressed, giving you two separate and distinct sounds. produced every time you use it. It does what it says on the tin though, allowing you to switch on an outlet from across the room - once the button is registered. Sometimes it takes 2 or 3 good clicks, which is ridiculous, but it works in the end, which is why I'm giving 2 stars instead of 1. Nobody will believe that this is just a normal light switch. It looks and works like the one you bought from Revain for $15. What I did. You get what you pay for here but expected more/better.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • flimsy
