Review on πŸ”ͺ PomeloHome 3.5" Stainless Steel Paring Knife: German High Carbon Steel Perfection by Oscar Munoz

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Wider than most, a bit unusual for a paring knife.

This paring knife is a bit odd. A solid piece of steel, it has a smooth appearance, but the handle is a little awkwardly shaped. The blade is quite sharp and cuts through tomatoes without pushing out the seeds, but it's also significantly wider than a regular paring knife. It doesn't matter if you plan on storing your knife on a magnetic wall hanger (and wait until the next earthquake turns your kitchen into a nightmarish house on stilts). However, if you plan on storing it in a knife block, be aware that it probably won't fit in standard paring knife slots. Rather, mine replaced a much longer, larger knife simply because that was the only type of slot that could explain the unusual blade width. (I have three knife blocks and have found this to be true in all three blocks. Don't ask me why I have three knife blocks. I'm not a hoarder, I'm just sure the extra blocks will come in handy someday. )
