We installed them in two houses. After living with soft-closing closets, you're hooked and can't go back to "old-fashioned". It's very easy to remove old hinges and install these soft-closing models. The price is about 1/2 that of major hardware stores and they are good quality. If your door has two hinges, you only need to replace one hinge per door. If the doors are three hinged, two replacements per door are required. Order them (I ordered one to test them out first to make sure they work) and when your wife is gone for a few hours, install them. Then sit back and see what happens. I guarantee you will have a very happy wife.
