I have an 11.1 stereo in my entertainment room. I tried to equalize the stereo sound field to make the sweet spot even sweeter! If possible at all? I adjusted the dB levels on each speaker. Sounds pretty balanced to me until I spoke to the sound engineer. I followed his advice and bought this dB meter. The results are nothing short of amazing. At least to my ears. It sounds the same from all directions in the room! It turned out really great! The numbers on the scale go up and down fairly quickly, so it takes a little getting used to. In my estimation, this gauge worked very well for this application. I also like the backlit LCD display. I had to measure at what decibel level my head would explode! About 122dB. Ouch! Then, to top it off, my stereo was at less than 1/2 volume. Precisely!
