This was the PERFECT solution for getting the sprinkler closer to the shower door and low enough to be raised while seated. under. I don't know if it sticks to plastic or fiberglass (haven't tried it) but it's perfect for flat tiles. To prepare for any type of suction, you must clean the tile and then wipe the area where you are installing it with an alcohol wipe. The alcohol will dissolve any residue, just wait for it to dry before fitting. Do not remove the plastic backing, including the rubber, until you are ready to install the device. Do not vacuum the joint area of the tile as it is not flat or smooth, so good suction cannot be achieved. The suction power without using glue is very strong when installed properly. For example, if you try to hang from it, the device breaks before the suction shuts off. Didn't want my shower head to shatter against the wall when it falls as I've seen complaints about this so yes I tried prying it off the wall. If yours falls off, you didn't follow the instructions (which tell you to unscrew the unit and then screw the suction handle back onto the wall once it's in place to build up pressure), your wall was dirty, or there was dust on the rubber pad /dirt/pet hair stuck to it because the plastic was removed before you were ready to install it.
