Basenjis are notorious for their ability to slip out of regular collars and it is generally recommended that Martingales or Limited Slip be used. I like that this collar is soft as regular nylon collars irritate my bee's neck and cause it to shed its hair. It is adjustable so you can adjust the size as needed. I ordered a small one for my boy which works great and is the right thickness for him. This collar appears to be very well made and I hope it will last as long as I think it will. In addition, it is very easy to care for and does not get dirty as much as many other collars. This is not our everyday collar for constant use. It's only used for walks, dog park (he doesn't play with it), Petsmart, etc.; Times I need to make sure he can't slip off the collar and I don't worry about using that. We're getting a second B early next year and I'll be ordering another one for her.
