Review on 🔧 Heli-Coil 55211 12-24 Kit: Superior Thread Repair Solution by Derek Cage

I have an old Plymouth and one of the carburetors has a broken thread in the housing. I have a new carburettor and this is original, I rebuilt it and it works great. After overtightening the wing nut, he tightened the bolt that pulled the soft medal of the carburetor body. So I was looking for a set of helical inserts for a #12 machine screw with a 24 thread. I wanted this carburetor because everything was wrong with it. Slowly drill into the correct bracket, being careful not to get metal shavings into the carburetor ports. Follow the instructions and go slow! it was a blind hole that i drilled. I drilled a hole well for the insert to fully fit. Then I took the faucet that came with the kit. Screw the hole back and forth one full turn to release the metal filings. After cutting the hole just enough for the insert to fit, I get to work using the tool provided to screw the insert into the threaded hole. make sure that there are no more metal chips. These stainless steel inserts are stronger than soft metal. Turn the screw in about a dozen times, loosen and tighten. This kit saved my carburetor. These things work great! Take the time to drill and clean, and apply some Wd-40 or equivalent to the threads. Keep them lubricated and tight. These works! They will fit many other items as well, check for correct size and thread. Make sure the threads are clean, lubricated and properly tightened, you shouldn't have any problems. Thank you Helicoil!
