We use a lot of straws around our house but make a concerted effort so stop using so much plastic - on a recent trip to San Diego there was just an awful lot of cups, bottles and yes, straws in the ocean - but while I've found some good straws that work in cold mugs and tall drinking mugs, I've yet to find something I really like that's extra thin, thin enough to slip into my skinny coffee mug fit; it's time! They're big enough to fit in a 20-ounce mug, yet thin and flexible enough to easily fit narrow mug openings. For example, I just bought one of those cups that Starbucks releases every holiday season with free refills in January - traditional reusable straws, especially metal and wooden ones, won't fit in these cups, but they do! I'm so excited. finding a straw to use with any cup that looks more like a regular straw than a large metal cup. I have a feeling I'll be using this set a lot and hopefully doing more to reduce the amount of plastic that ends up there!
