Excellent (with flaws)

Bought 2 years ago, I like it, but there are problems. First, the foam beads begin to crumble, making it seem like the "soft" bottom of more than half the filling just disappeared, making it almost useless. So now I have to find the right styrofoam balls to refill it. I need access to the pearls; pulled out a plastic slot, underneath is a thin fabric. Styrofoam beads like those used for beanbags should work if they are microbeads; View of styrofoam balls. Styrofoam balls are usually over 90 percent air and will flatten out over time. My research on beads recommends using virgin Styrofoam beads instead of recycled ones so they last longer. If that helps we'll see, but not all beads mention this. I don't like the idea of having to refill this table every 2 years, it's a real letdown, but it's comfortable and adapts well to my movement - I'm constantly adjusting my legs and seating position. Some reviews call a soft bottom or sandbag filled with sand. It's not sand, that would make it very difficult. Think beanbags. Another problem is that the top is very slippery and everything slides. The plate of food lands directly on the floor. I use it all the time to have dinner in front of the TV. So I used double sided tape to attach a piece of this non slip material that is used on rugs or in kitchen drawers. I do not regret the purchase, but the flattening (disappearance) of the beads is a big disappointment. I'd rather try to fix this and save resources at some level. EDIT: Is the bottom pad of your lap table's "beanbag" rotting? (After 2 years of daily use the styrofoam balls in mine seem to be gone because they flatten out, but able-bodied people can do this: buy EPS virgin microspheres, mine took 8 cups, carefully remove the styrofoam balls in your draw out the thin piece of plastic at the top for the phone - it was originally hot glued and has a couple of lugs on the bottom that will most likely break; you'll now see a thin fabric covering the foam area - you're going to create an instant zip here : Cut off the top of the zippered bag - the bag should be 1/2 inch below the "zipper" with the zipper, make "tabs" by cutting off the edges, not including the ends of the zipper itself to cut off - Keeping the zipper closed, simply spread the clear plastic 1/2" by 2 inches apart and gently tape tig each side 1/2 inch into the fabric to create an instant "zipper" - be careful warm. We will also try to melt the plastic bag and not put any glue on the zippered portion itself - once cool, open the zipper and cut it. the cloth is there to access the foam beads and pour in some new beads - be careful not to make puffs or you will end up with a giant mess; zip up a new one and stick just the patch on a fragile plastic thing; If you're not sure what I'm describing, please practice on something else first and you'll be fine - or just skip the zip pocket and cut and sew the fabric back on after you've filled the beads ).
