Bought for traveling with cat, originally cross country but ended up only needing to go as far as Los Angeles (about 3-4 hours). The carrier is incredibly easy to set up. You just open it and it takes shape! It is securely fastened in the car with seat belts and takes up almost the entire back seat. A collapsible tray and holdall came in handy. Kitty had no problem using the litter box (she slept in it before filling up with litter). I would not recommend transporting a cat out of the car in this carrier as it is very large and soft (not hard). When we got to the hotel I sat in the back seat and transferred the cat to a smaller carrier to take to the hotel. The cat didn't seem to mind the trip at all...it slept most of the time and had enough space to get comfortable. To give you an idea of how big it is, I'm 5ft 2in and can get all the way in and zip up. It was easy to see through the mesh side of the stretcher and I left it open for a while as it wasn't trying to come out. The bottom of the backpack is lined with a waterproof side and a soft, cozy fabric on the other side. It is easy to remove if necessary. I also put a separate sherpa blanket inside so it can curl up. I bought a stretcher a few weeks before our trip, left it open and fed her inside so she could get used to it and feel comfortable with it when we were ready to travel. If you are traveling with your cat, even for short distances, this transport box is worth every penny for you and your cat's health.
