The mat is working, I like that the litter is not sitting 'on top' of the mat. I find that no matter what mat I use, nothing will stop the spread of litter completely, especially when you have a cat that jumps out of the box! My only real complaint is that it is still not laying flat, and yes I had heavy stuff on it for 5 days before using.
