Review on Energup Li-Ion Replacement Battery Pack For Black Decker Versapak VP Series With 2-Port Charger by Matt Mosley

Look elsewhere good for me

I was overdue to replace the two Black&Decker VP100 Type2 batteries for my 20-year-old B&D cordless screwdriver. Even after charging, they didn't hold a charge long. So I bought these Energups in July, 2020. They worked fine, but were difficult to seat correctly in the OEM charger. Nevertheless, with some effort I got them to seat so that they'd get recharged, but I often had to resort to channel lock pliars to remove them from the charger as well as the screwdriver. Not exactly machined to a a fine tolerance. Yesterday, after not having used the screwdriver this year since I'd bought a Makita cordless drill with a variety of bits, I decided to see how the old B&D was doing. The screwdriver wouldn't run. I attempted to recharge the pair of Energup batteries. Still, they wouldn't retain a charge. In comparison, I can still get the _original_ B&D VP100 Type2 batteries to retain a minimal charge! I feel I wasted $22.25, including tax. Now looking for a replacement for the replacement. Or just sell the screwdriver.
