I have been upgrading and/or modifying my 1998 XJ for the last almost 5 years. New cooling system, charging system, wiring, alternator, battery, timing chain, RMS and high flow coil and muffler. This is probably the best and most economical upgrade I could do. I saved it for last as it's expensive but now that it's in stock I feel stupid waiting until now. The extra few mm does the following things for my particular setup: lowers the idle by about 150 rpm and saves gas in the long run; increased torque and power throughout the powerband, especially above 3,000 rpm; runs at much lower revs than before, it also saves me fuel; just works and speeds up a TON better than before. It is the original engine and gearbox and I have driven 250,000 miles with it. Thanks to this BBK throttle body, I'm looking forward to the next 250th Jeep ahead!
