I bought a pair of these and it's time for a review! My first Pi was given to a friend who wanted to learn programming. I bought a Pi, a case and a pre-installed NOOBS micro SD card. Note that this device does not come with the NOOBS operating system. So do yourself a favor and buy either a preloaded card or an 8GB micro SD card. Do it yourself! The second device I bought was for making a smart mirror and it works great for that purpose. I run Chromium on it and it gives me weather, traffic and some other random feeds. Regardless, the Raspberry Pi has an almost unlimited number of uses. There are special forums with users who know how to do almost anything with it. Note that it doesn't have Wi-Fi capability out of the box either, and a USB WiFi stick will suffice. It also needs to be powered via a micro USB cable which most people have lying around. tl;dr? Upon purchase, you will need an 8GB micro SD card (or a preinstalled NOOBS card), a USB Wi-Fi card, a keyboard and mouse, a micro USB cable, and an HDMI cable.
