There are various options for time, speed, auto off, etc. Air quality is also displayed on the screen. If you set it to auto, the device will automatically speed up when the poor air quality number jumps. It's pretty cool when it works... I was tidying up the bedroom and shaking out some carpets and the speed was automatically increased due to the increase in dust in the air. My husband suffers from terrible allergies and this has definitely improved the air quality in our bedroom. Just don't expect it to cover a huge area... It doesn't have to cover the whole house, and it won't. But for the price it has the square meters we need (250).
