Best teapot

I bought this Caribbean teapot about 2 years ago. I've had many issues with other kettles and kettles rusting, whistling or spilling. This kettle holds just the right amount of water and whistles so loud I can hear it in another room. I use this kettle almost every day and have never had a problem with rusting, peeling or anything other than taking care not to burn myself. The only thing that was weird was that when I first got it, the lid didn't quite fit. One of the pins that latches and seals the lid was pushed out too far, making it very tight almost to the point where I couldn't open the lid due to the slight expansion of the metal when hot. I used a flathead screwdriver to press lightly on the tab and that loosened the seal just enough to be perfect. Aside from the quality control aspect to make sure it's in perfect condition (which didn't take too long), this kettle is superb. One of the best features of this kettle is that the handle can be rotated to either side, which is handy when you have a hot kettle and need to add more water (steam won't burn your hand if you open the lid when the handle is sideways away) . Now, unfortunately, I have an electric stove, not a gas stove, so I can't talk about performance under different heating conditions. Prolonged exposure to high temperatures (e.g. at high temperatures on gas stoves) followed by rapid cooling can lead to metal fatigue. Most metal pots and pans heat up very well on medium settings without potentially damaging the metal. When cooling, I first run the hot kettle under hot water in the sink, then switch to cold water to give the metal an intermediate stage to cool. It may have something to do with lack of rust and peeling. I feel sorry for the people who have had bad experiences with this kettle as I have actually ground it with no problems. I highly recommend this kettle.
