Review on Bovado USA Insulated Picnic Potluck by Marcos Woody

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poorly made and too small!

This bag will NOT fit a 9" x 13" plate as instructed. Technically, it's barely big enough. So if you push a little on an uncovered 9" x 13" panel, you can barely fight the zipper. But look at the picture; Do you see the lid of the plate? Yes forget it; The lid on the bowl adds just enough volume at the top and protrudes just enough at the ends to prevent the bag from closing. And yes, for the record, I tried it - twice. If you've ever used an insulated bag like this, you already know that hot glasses stick to the plastic surface. As reported by another reviewer, the inside of his bag melted. So you'll need to put something like a towel between the very hot bottom of the plate and the bag - and if the zipper doesn't close with the lid on the bowl, it definitely won't close with the lid on the bowl. and a towel underneath. The bag is also poorly designed. You can't tell it from the photo, but the handle is only sewn to the top cover of the bag. When carried, the contents of the bag are pulled down and only held in place by the closed zipper. Ouch! Will lightning hold up a three liter plate of your famous green bean casserole? It would be interesting to know that that's halfway between the car and grandma's front door, wouldn't it? No matter how good your recipe is, THIS recipe is a disaster. I have a similar bag from Pyrex to use with a smaller plate and they sorted everything out. This bag is large enough to hold covered dishes with a towel or hot pads underneath, and handles are sewn across the entire bottom of the bag. In this properly crafted bag, the handles are an integral part of the bag body and the top opens on the fully supported body. Bovado USA (the bag is made in China, by the way, just to say the least) did the opposite. hard pass.
