Review on Blue Preppin Sanding Block for Weapons by Francisco Garcia

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is the best sanding block I have ever found

This is the second block I have bought in the last few weeks - they are great! They're longer than most cheaper plastic sanding blocks and heavier, which I consider a plus. The longer length allows for better sanding of large, flat surfaces, and the added weight makes them more stable when sanding (when sandpaper grips wood, lightweight plastics tend to tip over at the edges). Cheaper ones made of plastic are much more prone to breakage if dropped while they seem to be much more durable. They are also designed to take a full length strip of standard size sandpaper. If you grind a lot, this is the best choice. Another plus is that it's designed so that when sanding lengthwise, the sandpaper rolls along the edges in the direction you're sanding while holding it. I usually hold the sanding block with my fingers on either side of the narrower side and sand towards the longer length. Many of the cheap plastic sanding blocks have handles, so what I consider to be "normal" back-and-forth sanding motion moves along the side edge of the sandpaper rather than the rounded edges. The exposed side edge of the sandpaper then tends to catch on the splinter and either tear the paper or pull the splinter out of the wood. I'll be using it for a few more weeks and if there are no problems I'll buy one for each grit of sandpaper that I use regularly.
