I bought this 55mm hole saw to drill through an 8" reinforced concrete wall. Although it took quite a while, I think my (relatively) weak DeWalt rock drill, which only had a standard cartridge, was to blame. occasionally loosened from the drill chuck, so I rented a larger Bosch impact drill with an SDS Plus drill chuck. Despite wear on 3 of the 4 cutting teeth on the outer drill, I managed to break through the wall. The end product was a smooth, clean bore. In my case it was one time use but honestly going through 8 inch reinforced concrete can exceed normal use. But I would give 5 stars for a constantly loose center drill - incredibly annoying. Vibration caused the hex nut to loosen every 90 seconds, forcing me to stop, remove the bit (which became difficult when it was 6 inches deep in the wall), and re-lock. There has to be a better way to design it. I have read but not followed the advice of others to use Loctite on this hex nut. If I were to buy it again I would DEFINITELY try it. Otherwise a capable tool. And relatively cheaper than others.
