This couch cover is basically a nice thick blanket!The fabric is thick, but still soft enough for everyday use. I used it to cover a couch that doubles as pull-out Queen bed when we have visitors staying with us. Recently our dog has started sleeping on the couch and this cover is thick enough that it should protect the couch cushions from his nails as they drag across it.While I am using it to protect our couch from the dog, I think this would also be perfect as a general use cover as well. I actually like it better than the "fitted" versions which almost always look mis-sized for the couch. With this, you just drape it over and tuck it over the arms and into the bottom edge. I have the couch against a wall and have fabric pinned to the wall to keep it from coming undone or falling off.There is a lace trim around the outside edge, which I don't think really matched the look of this cover, but truthfully doesn't really hurt it either.This is exactly what was expecting and as such meets all my expectations.
