If you have several devices that use the same double socket, this is very handy. I hate turning electrical devices on and off. Have a few of these and just plug them into the bottom outlet and permanently plug into my toaster, coffee maker, can opener, smoothie blender, etc. And if I need to plug something else in for a few minutes, I just snap it on top. I'm not running everything at once, and I'm not claiming it's sensible or safe. I just appreciate not having to worry about moving forks to make a cup of tea or toast. Definitely worth the few dollars I spent.
