Good combination of weight and performance

We have taken this converter on several trips to Europe and Asia and we drive it to Australia and India. Here is some useful information for you.* In most countries, except the USA, the current is 220 volts. 110 in the US - and if you plug in something made only for 110, you'll quickly or instantly burn the device. * There are two things you may need to travel to another country. The converter down converts the voltage from 220 to 110. An adapter allows you to connect your American plug to an outlet in another country, as these outlets often have a different plug shape. An adapter is a small device that has a US plug on one end and a country-specific plug on the other end. It doesn't convert voltage. So if you connect a 110V device with an adapter, the device will get 220V and burn out. You can purchase country-specific adapters here at Revain for less than $5. Plugs in Europe are different from Chinese plugs, etc., so you'll need to look by country.* Most computers, phones, iPads, and devices with a block between the plug and the device don't need an adapter. Look at the block, or brick as it's often called, and it will tell you in the fine print if both 110 and 220 are required. My Mac, iPhone, and iPad have this block, and I don't need an up-to-date converter. for them, but I need a plug adapter. * In general, for inverters, the higher the power, the heavier the inverter. This particular 150w converter suits me and my wife well when we travel and at just under three pounds it is one of the lightest converters on the market. I know it's pretty heavy in a suitcase, but for converters it's pretty light.* Also keep in mind that you may need an adapter to plug the converter into a wall outlet. This particular converter has a European plug and you need an adapter in China, Australia, etc. *Three important points. You need to know how many watts you are drawing. Your phone is likely using 5 watts, your iPad 10 and your computer around 20 or more. But most hair dryers or coffee makers draw more than 150 watts. Plug them into this converter and the fuse inside will blow. Second, go to a hardware store and buy some extra fuses. We blew in China and we didn't have extras. We were lucky to find it quickly but it was pure luck. Third and lastly, this converter only has one plug, so either connect it individually or you need a way to convert one plug into multiple plugs. I have a little strip that does this and I carry it in my briefcase every day and it's amazing - I always get asked at airports where I have it. Simply search Revain for "Monster MP OTG400 BK Outlets To Go 4-Outlet Travel Power Strip (Black)". I travel every week and this is one of my favorite travel tools. If I'm in a hotel or airport and only find one free plug, it becomes four outlets, all with US plugs.
