Review on Govee Wireless WiFi Temperature Humidity Monitor: Digital Indoor Hygrometer Thermometer with App Alerts, Smart Sensor Humidity Gauge for Home, Pet, Garage, Cropper, Greenhouse - H5051(Not Compatible with 5G WiFi) by Lindsay Campbell

I reviewed the Govee Bluetooth Smart Hygro/Thermometer on my website cigarcraig.com in August, but really wanted more. A Wi-Fi version became available recently, so I jumped on it and grabbed one to test alongside the Bluetooth version. With the Bluetooth version, I've found that I need to be in the same room as the unit, which is fine if I want to know the conditions inside a particular humidor without having to open it up and look inside, or be warned, if something goes wrong . blow. That's all well and good, and the historical information that the module logs is nice to have too. I really wanted longer range solutions and then came the WiFi version. The only difference is the small WiFi icon on the LCD screen. The free app is the cool part and I can only talk about the iOS version but I was able to add both units and I have no reason to believe there isn't a reasonable limit to the number of units you can add , provided you name them differently in the setting. I played around with the setup instructions a bit, they weren't as concise as they could be. I had to read the FAQ to find instructions on how to connect to my home WiFi, but once I found them, it couldn't be easier. I would suggest that the company post the documentation as a resource on their website, and I actually took a look there before reading further through the printed manual. If the documentation is the only downside, I won't complain. It's commendable for its ease of use, and the device seems fairly accurate compared to its Bluetooth siblings and other digital hygrometers. Also, cigars in humidors, hygrometers in the smoke are fine, the ultimate test in my opinion. Price-wise, the WiFi version is almost double the price of the Bluetooth version, which is a bit pricey, but the functionality is worth the extra cost. Are there cheaper products on the market that do the same? Of course there is. They may not offer the data logging that these devices do, and they don't have a family of other home automation products that work with the same application, like lights, doorbells, and other fun stuff if you want.
