Very soft and really covers the chair. However, it should be noted that it is not waterproof. If something spills, it will stain the stool underneath. It comes with some spikes that you have to poke between the seat and backrest to stay in place. Too narrow between armrests and seat. Thus the tension pulls the tucked-in part of the back outwards. I have to keep putting it back in. It fits snugly to the floor, which prevents it from stretching and opening the chair.
