I choose the plastic parts travel kit for a reason. Looking at the details of plastic parts compared to a wooden set at the same price, plastic wins. Now, as to how well this set will travel, I have some doubts. If you carefully lift the set and rotate it ninety degrees, the king will slide off the board, already white. I don't know if the magnets are strong enough to stay in play while driving. Still, I would recommend buying the set.
