Hardly bought due to negative reviews. However, I had "little" no choice because my camcorder could not rewind. Overall, I'm glad I bought. I've had it for about a week now and use it extensively. Before I play a tape (I copy them all to my iMac), I fast-forward to the end and then rewind to the beginning. While there were some issues, by and large he did what he was supposed to do AND MOST IMPORTANTLY he didn't "chew" any of my tapes. However, the problems are serious and should be noted: 1) The mechanism for opening the cassette's front cover is not as accurate as it could be. I had 2 or 3 chances where I ejected a cartridge after FF&RW showed the bottom of the cap is now misaligned. No, nothing that can't be easily fixed with a mini screwdriver, but leaving it like this could have serious consequences for the tape.
