I replaced a set of barely worn metal pads with these because the metal pads squeaked. They are much quieter, but not silent. The squeak is completely gone, but they make a little noise, mostly when reversing. I think most will find them pretty acceptable in terms of noise. What matters is how well they work. They are sweet and affectionate, which I really like. Although the front pads do most of the work, changing just the rear pads lifted the pedal and gave it an instant bite. I like the feel of good, firm brakes. You're a bit irritable, but it's a lot better than pounding hard on the pedal to make the car stop. The only thing that worries me is the lack of fixing clips or silicone grease. I had some lube and cleaned up the old clips with a wire brush and a dremel. For a few dollars more they should always be there.
